Welcome to the openAOS developer pages
Now that Archos have published a Special Developer Edition firmware, opening their generation 6, 7 and 8 devices to all developers, we created this project to have an platform for alternative operating systems that will run this device. Here you'll find everything to run alternative operating systems on your Archos (generation 6 devices: Archos5 and Archos7; generation 7 Android device: Archos5IT; generation 8 Android devices: 28, 32, 43, 70, 101). Gen9 (101g9, 80g9) are due soon.

Getting Started for developers:
When starting with developing for the archos devices you can use your own kernel or use the modified archos one provided by openaos. If you use the last one there is a big advantage that you can also use the multiboot menu. See the user section above on how to set it up for the different generation of devices.

Documentation:
We invite everyone interested in the several projects to join us on IRC, we're hanging out on #openpma on irc.freenode.net. However, if you require help pertaining to the stock (unpatched) firmwares please bear in mind that the above is not a support channel. Archos official firmware support is located in #archos on irc.freenode.net
Enjoy!
