openvpn support

Reported by: Brian J. Murrell <brian@…> Owned by: bubu
Priority: major Milestone: Android 2.3 Anoa
Component: Android 2.3 Version: Android 2.2 - alpha1
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Cyanogen apparently has added openvpn to their Froyo build.  It would be great if OpenAOS did the same.  Could probably even leverage Cyanogen's work on that.

not for a2, maybe a3 or even later.

This is one possible approach:  http://github.com/fries/android-external-openvpn

Replying to dm8tbr:

Would it be considered if somebody else did the work? :-)

Indeed. I believe it requires (at minimum) a tun.ko kernel module. That should be simple enough to add if it's not already.  That would suffice to at least give people the groundwork they need to implement that the above solution.

added external/openvpn repo from cyanogenmod and added tun.ko module...

now the ui needs to be merged/ported from cyanogenmod... will be done later on...
